Fargo HDP Series

In contrast to the DTC series, HDP printers do not print directly onto the card's surface. Instead, the image is first printed onto a specialized film (HDP Film), which is then thermally fused onto the card. 

Utilizing retransfer film technology, this printer achieves true edge-to-edge coverage, completely eliminating any unsightly white borders or lines around the edges of the card. 

Engineered to deliver high-resolution graphics—reaching up to 1200 dpi on select models—for crisp, vibrant results that rival professional photo quality. 

Retransfer technology enables this printer to safely print on a wide variety of card materials. This includes cards with uneven surfaces—such as Smart Cards (contact chips) or RFID cards—all without risking damage to the printhead. 

The transfer film layer provides an extra shield against scratches and daily wear and tear. Additionally, since the film completely fuses with the card, any tampering or attempts to peel away the printed layer will instantly destroy the image, offering superior tamper-resistance against forgery.
